Types of Pets Seen
Our doctors and staff at Brandner Veterinary Hospital can care for many types of pets:
- Dogs
- Cats
- Rabbits
- Pocket Pets (Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Rats, Mice)
Surgery
Our practice is fully equipped to provide clientele with routine procedures such as a Spay or Neuter, as well as other soft tissue surgeries.
Dental Care
Periodontal disease is very common in dogs and cats. Plaque and tartar build-up on the teeth leads to bad breath and gum inflammation, and potentially more serious problems such as damage to the heart, liver, kidneys and immune system. Our doctors understand the importance of dental care for your pet and can help determine when professional dental treatment is needed. Our dental treatment is performed under anesthesia and includes a complete oral exam, ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and oral rinse. It may also involve extractions, antibiotics, or pain medications if necessary.
Radiology
In 2008, we converted to digital radiography. We utilize the D.R. VET Digital Imaging System for our x-rays, and the AFP Imaging Dental X-Ray System for our dental radiographs. Both of these are high-tech systems that capture images quickly and provide exceptional image quality. The conversion to digital from our previous standard film unit offers many advantages for our patients, such as faster processing time and reduced exposure to radiation. This means less stress and increased safety for your pet. The digital imaging software we use allows the doctors to rotate and enhance x-rays, and zoom in on areas of interest. In addition, we are able to send images to specialists quickly if necessary.
Pharmacy
To better allow us to serve our patients' needs we are proud to offer an extensively stocked pharmacy. In addition to pharmaceuticals we carry flea & tick products, heartworm preventatives, shampoos, and supplements. We offer a variety of Hills, Royal Canin, Purina Prescription Diets both dry and canned options.

Checks: All returned checks will be charged a fee
- For the first office visit all new clients must pay a deposit equal to the full exam fee.
- Exam deposits will be applied to successfully attended appointments; refunds will be issued if canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
- Failing to show or give the required 24 hours’ notice for canceling/rescheduling the appointment will result in forfeit of the exam deposit. We will follow up with a notification if this occurs.
Procedure Deposits
We will require that a deposit for a procedure be put down at the time of scheduling. For those procedures that are estimated to be under $1000 a deposit of $250 is required, and for those procedures greater than $1000 the deposit will be $500.
Procedures will require a minimum cancellation of 5 business days to receive a full refund of your deposit.
Veterinary Specialists Deposits
For times when outside services are needed, for example an ultrasound, we will bring in a specialist to perform that procedure. In order to be mindful of our specialists’ schedule and the increased demand on their time we will request a 50% deposit of estimated services. If you need to cancel a specialty appointment, we require 3 business days for a full refund of the deposit. If you do not cancel with a full 3 business days’ notice you will forfeit your deposit, and this will go towards paying the specialist’s cancellation fee.
Late Policy
Our appointment times are 30 minutes, and to give each patient their essential time with the doctor we will usually need to reschedule your appointment if you are 10 minutes late.
Cancellations
If you are unable to make your appointment please give us 24 hours notice.
We understand there are times when you must miss an appointment due to an emergency or family/work obligation. If you should experience extenuating circumstances, please contact hospital management and they will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
No-Show Policy
You
will be documented as a No-Show if you fail to show for your appointment or
arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment without prior notice.
